Sun on the Grass
POSTED: August 6, 2006
Today we got back to Helsinki, where the heat is oppressive rather than relaxing and the mosquitoes seem like a torment rather than a necessary hazard. Then we looked out of the window at the grass.
Or what used to be the grass. The summer has been unusually hot and dry, with almost no rain at all, and the vegetation has suffered. The park that we can see from our window was verdant green when we left the city at midsummer and now looks arid and parched.
