Sheep Graduating Party
POSTED: August 4, 2006
This evening Camilla and Mikkael came by boat with their daughter to collect the sheep. They had spent five weeks with us graduating from being lambs. Before they left the girls gave them a Graduation Party.
It was strange how much like pets they had become. They had personalities and they had been growing rapidly. They had begun head-butting each other and the brown sheep had begun jumping in the air as a precursor to starting a fight. They had taken to following us around and sitting with the girls under the jetty.
Eventually we stood on the beach while they climbed into the boat. And then off they went. A few “baaas” and they were gone.
That evening we all missed them. Later it felt quite empty going to bed without putting the sheep to bed first.
