Carrer de Vila i Vilá, Barcelona, 15:00
After breakfast we walked to the metro station and got Line 3 to Lesseps. Once there we walked along Travessera de Dalt until we turned left up Passatge de Napoleó, a road so steep that it actually has three escalators instead of pavements. At the top was Parc Güell, the park that Goudi built.
We were offered a four hour wait to go through the parts Goudi made but opted to walk round the rest of the park instead. This was more than enough and, by the time we got to the top of the hill, we had seen everything we wanted to.
Now we have got the metro back. Five minutes from home we have stopped at Bar Stage, at the rear of the Teatre Apolo for a beer and frankfurters for Naa and Sampo.
We are on one corner of Carrer de Vila i Vilá and Carrer Nou de la Rambla. There is a restaurant on each of the other three corners. Our chooce has been determined by the location of the sun. We are in it. Behind us two taxi drivers are playing dominoes for money. This may explain why our driver was late when we arrived.
I photograph my beer and find myself photographing Irma as well.
Naa and Sampo will leave to explore the local wonders of Lidl, where they have a shellfish pick & mix, and sell octopus. We will stay and chat and watch.
