A306, Arcada, 14:30
Today is the autumn school holiday week and so Naa stayed in bed while Irma and I got up. I left first and walked through the dark and drizzle to the bus stop. Something about Autumn, and standing at the bus stop on my own as the dark turns into dawn, made me miss Auo acutely. This was the time of year for a particular kind of moaning as summer runs out, the weather gets worse, and Auo looks forward to an imaginary winter full of the right kind of snow.
So it goes, as Kurt Vonnegut would say.
I had two tutorials in the morning, sorted some planning out, and then went to the canteen for the first time in weeks with Ludde for a lunch of white fish, mashed potatoes and brocolli. Then I had a group planning meeting, and then I sat in the team meeting which it transformed itself into. I didn’t even have to leave the room.
Now I am staring out the window at a man photographing leaves. I photograph him. So it goes.
At 15:00 I will have my third tutorial. Nobody will turn up for this. I will dutifully wait forty minutes, leave a terse message and leave.
I will go home to find Irma, Naa and Olivia, leaving. Olivia, who was Auo’s best friend (or unbiological sister), has come round to see us, which is very nice. She and Irma will return after dropping Naa at her journalism course. We will chat and I will be very glad to see her again.
