Apparently Il Faro means ”the lighthouse”. It also serves as the name of a restaurant where we find ourselves sitting with Naa to celebrate Irma’s birthday and commemorate what would have been Auo’s 25th birthday.

Irma chose the restaurant while thinking of an entirely different one somewhere else in Herttoniemi. This turns out a very good choice though.

The restaurant sits on the end of what I suppose we should call Herttoniemi Bay in a little enclave I knew nothing about. The waiter makes us all feel at home and the food (I have tuna) comes in large and delicious portions.

The meze we had for starters should definitely feature in anyone’s order.
