Vantaa will get a new tram system soonish, and currently half of the city’s roads have disappeared or gone into hiding while the mammoth building works divide Vantaa into maze-like blocks.

We discovered this last week trying to get to Malyssa’s wedding party. We discover it again while trying to find the so-called Fazer Experience.

When we get there we will wish we hadn’t. Disappointing sums it up, and we leave as fast as we can.

Later, attempting to get home, we will find ourselves driving along a road containing miles of outlets, and unlikely shops: one labelled Burgerville and one called Asian Supermarket. We will avoid the burgers and stock up on canned water chestnuts, which have proved hard to find in Helsinki.
