Niilia has two older sisters: Malyssa and Tinja. We have come to Johanneksenkirkko in the city centre for Malyssa’s wedding to Eero.

The weather gods have laid on a drizzle for the occasion

We stand waiting outside the church under our umbrellas. Wikipedia tells us that ”St. John’s Church (Finnish: Johanneksenkirkko, Swedish: Johanneskyrkan) in Helsinki, Finland, is a Lutheran church designed by the Swedish architect Adolf Melander [fi]in the Gothic Revival style. It is the largest stone church in Finland by seating capacity”.

I take a picture before the crowds arrive.

Afterwards we will drive to the reception in Vantaa, discovering that a huge amount of road works has meant that half of the area now acts as a complex maze for advanced players. We will arrive late to discover that many people will arrive later.

The programme will proceed slowly and we will have to leave before the cake and dancing to say hello to Shanti who will make it clear that we missed her feeding time, which we did.
