Shanti and I set off for a pre-breakfast walk. Pre dog-breakfast, I mean. Just outside we see that the workmen have now fitted the base for the new lamp post. Today they will thread the cables along the underground pipes that now join the bases along the road.

They have taken remarkable care to not make a mess. They have pulled out one bush and then carefully replanted the roots.

We will do nothing until they have finished everything; we have a new LED-powered lamp, and another gang has come and removed the old wooden pole.
