We have taken advantage of the unseasonably hot weather and driven to Pellinki. We drive to Benita’s to see what goes on there, and Shanti sees the water and wants to go swimming.

Irma has brought a floating toy with us and we throw it as far as we can. Shanti runs into the sea and then swims as far as she needs to get it; and then swims and runs back with it. The problem with this arrangement lies in the fact that Shanti signals she has had enough by simply refusing to fetch the toy at some point, leaving it drifting right out to sea.

Fortunately some young boaters sail over to collect it for us.

Dried off, we sit at a bench outside Benita’s drinking coffee. I notice a piece of digital flotsam, washed ashore after what looks like a decade or so at sea.

Later we will spend a couple of hours in Sundö with Mika and Camilla before heading to the ferry and Helsinki.
