The hot weather continues, and we continue in the garden. The sun sits low in the sky and forms hard shadows on the ground.

Shanti has joined us and seems careful to sit just inside the shade wherever she lays down. She manages this with an almost pedantic accuracy.

Irma bought her a toy from a little pet shop we found in Murano that forms a reversal octopus-type thing. We have named it Pixie-Dixie. It becomes Pixie when the yellow side shows and Dixie when the blue-gray side shows. She has taken to carrying it around with her and, yes, she manages to turn it inside out from time to time.
