The day began misty and has remained that way. The sun has remained behind clouds.

A vet came to visit because we need to give Shanti a pill before we can return with her to Finland. The vet needs to see her swallow it and write it into her pet passport.

That done, we have walked past the bus station and stopped at O’Neills, at Shanti’s request, on the way back. She has received water and a lot of attention from the cook and the waiters.

Instead of turning right to go home we turn left and onto the beach outside Villa Nettuno. We have the beach to ourselves except for the upstairs neighbours who sit on a blanket mist-bathing.

We can see beach cafés getting built ready for the tourist season which has just started.

In the distance we see people by and in the sea. I take a photo which the weather contrives to present as (almost) monochrome.
