Pride Plaza, Delhi, 16:00
At 8:00 Rosie and I walk the hundred metres to Alan and Lisa’s house and she starts banging the gate and whining to get in. She leaps up at Lisa and starts liking her then does the same to Alan. I say goodbye and leave.
I make sure everything is switched off and tidied away at home and Sanu arrives at 8:30. Air India had WhatsApped me yesterday to offer me a 22€ upgrade to Premium Economy with instant check-in, much more legroom, choice of meal, and first-off luggage. If they ever offer this to you just say yes.
Now I have arrived in Aerocity at the Pride Plaza hotel, an excellent discovery of Irma’s. I look out of the window of Room 558 and take a photograph. I walk out and find the small Aerocity shopping street, which proves to be about 20 metres from the hotel.
Then I walk back for the buffet dinner I had booked.
Note to self: don’t book this ever again, unless you want to spend an hour over-eating in a childish haze, and an eight-hour night fighting off severe indigestion.
