This morning I found it impossible to get Rosie to take her tablet. I did what we did with Shanti. I put it in the middle of a pat of butter. She ate all the butter and then looked at me and slowly dropped the tablet out of her mouth onto the floor.

I tried to open her mouth and drop it into her throat but she has a very long and agile tongue. I thought I had done it and I sat and watched her for a couple of minutes while she sat and watched me. Then she looked at me and slowly dropped the tablet out of her mouth onto the floor.

And trotted off.

At 12:30 Rajeev returns from the DGD Junior sessions, and takes me to Divine Hypermarket. I chose them because Zeal has Muslim owners and staff and I guessed that they might not sell dogfood. (Irma will later tell me that they do.)

I buy bags of Pedigree food in gravy. I plan to grind up the tablet and mix it with the gravy.

As we head home I take an almost meaningless photograph from the rickshaw as it slows momentarily. The colours attract me.

Later I look at it, and decide not to crop it at all. I think I like it.
