I promised to take Irma for two dinners, as anniversary gifts. Today we have the first one. We visit Bakers Arch, a ”garden café” in Trivandrum, owned apparently by the people who started Villa Maya.

It takes a long time to get there, and the service seems slow, bordering on haphazard. The food though tastes remarkably good. And the atmosphere created by the garden feels remarkably cosy.

Later, on the way home, we take a slight detour to see the Christmas lights in Trivandrum. This photograph captures some of the excitement and none of the detail.
