Lighthouse Beach, 9:20
Last night the dog slept in the house for the first time in three or four nights. She fell deep asleep at about 20:30, barely woke when I went to bed, and slept until 5:30. The street remained silent, or at least nothing woke me as it has the past few nights. I think all the dogs had worn themselves out.
Chad and Sally invited me to have breakfast with them, and Eric and Gina, their friends from Portland, at the German Bakery. I agreed, and through an odd series of events Rosie has not come with me. After she had eaten she raced off somewhere with her friend, and had not returned by the time I left.
Chad and Sally have invited Olya too, and Ajith and Ambu come too.
I arrive first and leave again briefly to take some photographs. Someone has dumped these gas cylinders on the beach front very near the German Bakery.
I will go back in and grab a large table. I will order a ginger lemon soda while I wait for the others, and then have masala dosa and a pot of chai for my breakfast.
I will have to move table, of course, when Chad arrives and decides that that table will probably suit us better than this table.
On the way home Rosie will spot me in the distance and coming racing down the road to jump all over me.
