I got off to a slow start this morning but I still managed to have all the laundry in and out of the washing machine and on the washing line by 10 am.

I then continued working on Space Invaders for Scratch, and got a version working with multiple levels. I tested it and then started on the instruction manual for building it.

In the afternoon several helicopters seemed to hover overhead although I couldn’t get a clear view. I went onto the roof and saw a squadron of military planes fly over in formation. I decided to walk to the beach for a better look.

I ended up at Rock Café eating pakora and drinking salted lassi. I had taken a book with me so I read that and occasionally wandered out to see the helicopters as they came round again. I learned that this formed a rehearsal for a big military parade in Trivandrum on Wednesday, although nobody admitted to knowing anything more about it.

During one of these visitation I photographed the pile of rope and nets that stands outside by the fishing boats. I decided that, if you squint, it looks vaguely like an elephant.

I walked back and had a determinedly early night.
