This week I have been using a beta version of an app that I intend to buy as soon as it becomes available. The app will either replace or supplement Scrivener. It comes from the same developer so I will not have to change teams.

As part of testing it I tried to change the default font on the Windows app from Georgia to Courier Prime. I wanted to do this because I use both Scrivener and the soon-coming app to write drafts, and I like the drafts I write to bear no resemblance to a printed book. I want them to look like drafts. If they start to look like proper publications I find myself slipping into a different (and unhelpful) frame of mind.

No matter what I did I couldn’t manage to do change the default font as I had on my iPad and so I ended up posting on the forums.

As a result of this Keith Blount recommend that I download Courier Prime and provided a link. I had already downloaded it to use in Scrivener but I decided to try downloading it again and, lo and behold, the new version worked with the new app (as well as with Scrivener). My drafts on Windows now look like drafts.

Here, for future reference: the official link to download Courier Prime.
