Kerala has local elections taking place in early December and campaigning has begun. The current ruling party, the CPI(M), have rented the house opposite us to use as their headquarters.

The campaigning period begins today and many local campaigners arrive to set up flags, and sit around on the porch having long discussions. We recognise Sanu’s father among them. Irma shouts down from our balcony and chats with him.
