We have become active members of the TGIF gang, a mixed group of Indian and European people who meet every Friday for chat and fun.

Yesterday’s meeting didn’t happen because Devan and Jumana had invited everyone to their house by Vellayani lake today. Devan had just finished repairing a boat so we all went for rides on it.

More accurately it seems a form of punt, with two local men pushing us round the lake with long sticks.

Today was also Olya’s birthday, and Radha had had her’s recently so everyone engaged in long energetic renderings of Happy Birthday To You, accompanied by numerous toasts.

We left earlier than many people, having spent six hours there.
