Sindu works as the accountant at Sisp. Today her daughter’s marriage takes place and they have invited us. One long rickshaw ride along Highway 66 and off at a junction on the right and we arrive.

The heavy rain has stopped but the puddles remain. We make our way to the wedding area and find a seat. I photograph the setting before it gets obscured by the sheer number of people on the stage.

The stage will include the bride, the groom, both families, priests, dignitaries, children, and at least three photographers and videographers. I will attempt to take some pictures during various points in the ceremony they will all look like crowd scenes from any number of events.

Afterwards we will have a traditional wedding meal on a banana leaf. Irma will bring her own spoon.
