Daya arranges for Irma’s scooter to go for a service. A young man arrives to collect it although neither of us notice how he actually mobves it, since it doesn’t start.

I do a lot of tidying in the garden while updating the 11 laptops, and then we walk to the beach where Irma has promised to pay a woman running a stall a large amount of money from a Danish friend of Christine’s who has promised to support her daughters.

We then walk along the beach where I stop to take a photograph of the sea, before we go for biryani at Leo. I have an egg biryani.

While we eat the waiter comes up and gives us an invitation to a wedding: Michael’s elder daughter will get married next week. Michael died unexpectedly a couple of years ago, and the girls both absolutely adored him when we first started coming here.

We will then learn that Lakpay has relocated to Switzerland, leaving her brother to run her shop. We will get a rickshaw home.
