Irma has gone to the centre for a meeting. Shanti and I have gone into the woods twice. The weather chains me indoors once the dog and I have agreed that two walks in the cold and wet, the second go a lengthy one, constitutes enough bracing exercise for the morning.

I go through the images on my iPad and find this one from Sunday, when I walked from Kauppatori to the metro by Helsinki university (or Kaisaniemi metro station as we sued to call it).

The woman seemed tall to begin with and wore tall platform heels. She passed me and then stood still looking in front of her when I took this photograph.

Later Irma will return, the rain will stop, and the three of us will go for a long walk through the woods and down to the field. Various dogs will greet us and Shanti will greet them in return. She has changed a lot in that respect. She used to fear other dogs and retreat behind us if one approaches. Now she has friends and races up to them for some mutual jumping and sniffing.
