I have come outside with Shanti for her pre-breakfast walk and toilet routine.

I look up and see the trees and the sky looking impressively like something haunting from a low budget Hammer horror film.

Shanti doesn’t look up but continues her eternal sniffing. Whatever she finds interests her and she gives the impression that it all adds up to something: the Canine Big Picture perhaps.
