We got a plane in the afternoon from Helsinki to Nice, and then caught a train from Nice Saint-Augustin to Ventimiglia.

Now we walk from the station looking for the place we will stay. We find it easily enough, and on the way I will pause outside an estate agent’s shop on Via Roma to photograph their postbox.

The apartment that Irma rented for us sits about 10 metres from the sea, and about 4 metres from a bar called The Group.

We will finish the evening with a short walk and a glass of beer in The Group.
