Brockley Park Road, 11:20
The tube strike should have finished at eight o’clock this morning. I get up, shower, and start looking at CityMapper and the Transport for London website to see the real situation.
I pack and photograph the view from one of the windows looking from the back of Mark’s flat over south London. Mark and I head for Crofton Park station, 3 minutes walk from the flat.
We will discover that the trains there have stopped running due to an unspecified incident. They will now run an hour or so late. Mark will walk with me to Ladywell station about ten minutes walk away, and from there everything goes smoothly.
The tube has cleared itself by the time I get the train to Charing Cross and I will get to Heathrow almost an hour earlier than I had planned.
The plane will then get delayed for an hour after we have all boarded.
