Kiasma, 14:28

Having a museokorti gives me the advantage of having a scond (or third) look at something that interests me. I have therefore returned to Kiasma for one more look at Eeva Karhu’s photo-based work.

The photograph shows Path (Seasons) Winter 4

The caption nearby says “artist Eeva Karhu has photographed the same stretch of path repeatedly across the changing seasons. These artworks have been created by merging every image taken in the course of a single visit.

Alongside light, her creative preoccupations include repetition and the cyclical nature of time.
Rather than aspiring to capture a single moment with precision or realism, her photographs allow the viewer to sense the passing of time and to experience the ever-changing natural world.”

The picture I take does not do justice to the subtlety of the colors and layers. It does serve as an aide-mémoire though.
