Cyberspace, 11:50

Yesterday I briefly used my laptop and discovered that Windows 11 had begun to download itself of its own volition. I closed the computer but to no avail. When I opened it this morning the installation had begun.

It turned out much better than I expected. Most of my settings remained intact, and it has only taken me an hour or so to remove any traces of Co–pilot, notifications, widgets, and the dreaded trio of Teams, Onedrive and Outlook.

I managed to stop the auto–changing desktop images and replace them on all the desktops with a single minimalist monochrome picture.

The only real issue so far: the font size has changed and I cannot find any way of making it smaller.

Oh well.
