I learned from Stoa’s website that

Night of the Arts at Stoa is this year a celebration of music, dance, and culture from the Middle East and North Africa!

A festival of Middle Eastern and North African music, dance, and culture arrives in East Helsinki for the first time!

Middle East Jam Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with a two-day festival. On August 14th, during Taiteiden yö “Night of the Arts”, at Stoa and on August 15th at Lapinlahti.
Stoa Cultural Centre will come alive with breathtaking performances from top artists across the Middle East and North Africa.

The event will bring together music, dance and art from the Middle East and North Africa – featuring live performers, workshops, DJ sets, jams, food and performances for the whole family.

I went to the library to return a cd, intending to see the start of the jam. I got there too early and contented myself by watching the soundcheck.

I felt happy that the weather had dressed itself up for the occasion.
