Saturday means House cleaning – a task that has got much more intense since Shanti’s hair arrived in the house. I have gone from emptying the vacuum cleaner once a month to emptying it at least once a week.

Sunny Saturdays mean gardening and we set to with gusto. After a long afternoon of planting, weeding, brushing, gathering, and taking leaves into the woods to hide them among the leaves in the woods, we decide that we want to sit in the garden for a final summer holiday drink I cycle to Alepa to see what they have and return with a couple of cans that bear a loose relationship to what we would actually have liked.

Sitting with my can of Aura on the table next to me I notice a pattern composed of shadows and bricks and get up to photograph it.

Later we will spend the evening watching Stanley Tucci. We have already seen the first three episodes of the first series of Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy and tonight we will watch the last three.

Now we need to keep an eye on the television schedules to see if or when series two will arrive in Finland. That contains the two episodes we have most interest in: the ones about Puglia and Liguria.
