We have driven to Hämeenlinna because Irma needs Tero to repair a tooth that broke recently. She goes into his surgery while I wander around the town which feels a lot like Porvoo. It has a bus station in exactly the same style Porvoo used to have, before they modernised the bus station by demolishing it and replacing it with nothing.

It has a lot more hills though. Everything seems to sit on a slope. I wander down Raatihuoneenkatu and notice the rear of a burger stand. I stop and take a picture.

I also notice the proper old–fashioned Trumpton-style fire station. Unfortunately I cannot find a place from which to photograph this that shows it in all its glory, and pictures of parts or details don’t capture what I like about it.

Later we will have a lunch salad in the café attached to Wetterhoff, the still-famous wool and weaving shop.
