Jetty, 11:11

We usually refer to the narrow wooden terrace which covers the never-satisfactory path to the front door as the jetty. Today, when I open the front door, I see the results of twelve hours of heavy rain (which still continues).

The summer we experienced yesterday ended as quickly as it arrived. We had rain from the middle of the evening and we will have a lot more of it until we go to bed tonight.

The sky will get darker and darker. Irma will put the fire on. We will feel like we have uncovered October, lurking in the shadows months ahead of its time.
