We got back to Vartiokylä about 17:00 local time, sorted some things out, relaxed for a couple of hours, and went to bed. We woke up stunned.

Shanti seems to have no trouble adjusting to all this. She has wandered around calmly, and once we put her bed, her water bowl, and the couple of toys we had brought with us, in their places she acted as though everything had returned to normal.

Earlier this afternoon we took her out into the woods, and she seemed to notice fairly immediately that she faced no dangers: no predators, no rickshaws or trucks, and no humid heat.
