After some extremely tense moments (will we actually get the papers in time?), we have finally got Shanti to the airport, and all her documents have proved acceptable. We left the house at 20:00, began the check-in process at 23:00 and now, just after midnight, Shanti sits in her box awaiting her 24.5 hour journey.

She will travel in cargo to Frankfurt, wait five hours there, and then travel for almost three hours to Helsinki, where she will rejoin us.

First the box needs scanning, which means that she needs to get out and then get back in. Fortunately she seems to regard the box as one of her safe spaces so we have no problems getting her into it.

The plane will depart at 3:00 and we will try to get some sleep before we arrive in Europe.
