Thozhichal, 17:00
I have started to feel that I should retitle these notes Man+Dog. My adventures seem to have taken on a definite and unexpected pattern.
Today Sanu comes round at 2pm and we head off to Petcity for her second appointment. She will spend an hour or more having intravenous drips again, and today I will ask them to trim her nails.
She will get big tablets that she needs to take once a day for the next five days, starting today. Fortunately I have watched Irma’s butter trick. I cut the tablet into four and embed the bits in a pat of butter which she eats happily.
Then we go for a short walk. I take a picture of our neighbour’s side wall from the little road that it faces. Shanti wanders around the field on the other side of the road, sniffing, pissing and shitting. The wall, and the field behind me, have such a bright palette and the light emphasises it.
Then, business done, Shanti trots off the field, up the path to Sarovaram, and in through the gate, without even looking back.
Dog getting better.
