Once I got to Bangalore I had to wait approximately five hours for my plane to Trivandrum. By the time Sanu met me I felt absolutely dead on my feet. Sleep had not really proved possible between Frankfurt and Bangalore, due to the man on my left and his insatiable need to climb over me and back again, in order to ask the cabin crew questions they couldn’t answer.

Sanu took me home where I washed, tidied up, and called Rajeev. Now we have arrived at Coexistence. I can see nobody around so I walk up to the little house where several dogs jump up and start barking at me, led by a huge one who appears to lead the pack.

I notice Shanti in the gang but I don’t think she notices me. She has become part of the gang and focuses on giving me a good barking.

After a while one of the young men comes to the door, and after another while, he manages to get all the dogs back in the house and Shanti out in the yard. At that point she notices me and starts jumping up and down and licking me. We get in the rickshaw and drive home.
