Greenway Close, London N4, 14:00
I slept like a professional sleeper last night and woke up instantly, pro style. I made some coffee, had a shower, read the news, and headed out into the surprisingly sunny Wimbledon morning.
I have stopped using Google Maps and started using CityMapper, an app Luke suggested years ago. Of course, by the time I started using it, he had moved onto something else, or back to Google Maps.
I have travelled to Hackney, using CityMapper, to meet Ken Worpole, who I have not seen in person for decades, although we have written to each other, chatted on Zoom, and recorded several podcasts. I get off the tube at Manor House and walk for 15 minutes.
He lives in a block of flats in Hackney that seem completely suitable. They have an architectural style that you would never see outside fifties London. It reminds me of my childhood for some reason. They have an unusual depth to them. They look out over a park where herons nest.
On the way back I photograph the corner of the house.
