I notice this while sitting on the balcony. I photograph the coconut and its immediate surroundings.

I particularly notice the long spaghetti-like fronds surrounding the coconut. Initially I thought these came from a separate parasitic plant, but yesterday I saw a dead branch in the garden and realised that they form part of the tree.

That constituted my daily biology lesson.
