One thing I have learned about having a dental implant in Kerala: it involves a lot of x-rays. A whole lot of x-rays.

I have come for the third time in three months to Travancore Scans, and the staff have begun to recognise me. I get led to the small box-like room with no windows where the 3D scanner lives with its friendly technician. I photograph the scanner while he sets everything up.

He will send the results to Archana, my dentist, by WhatsApp and give me a cd of the 3D model of my mouth. On the way home I will wonder what creative uses I might make of this.
