For reasons that I don’t actually remember we know Arun from Helsinki. Born in Kerala, he lives with his Finnish wife and their children in Tapiola. Right now he has come to Kerala to visit his aging mother.

Right now, as in right now, he has come to visit us and we have come to Sanjeevini to eat. The evening passes enjoyably. He suggests we have a fish, which I agree with, and then suggests that we order aloo gobi and dal fry to go with it.

I couldn’t agree with this more.

We have brought Shanti with us, and she just sits under the table waiting for bits of food to drop. I photograph the painting of the Kathakali dancer that adorns one wall.
