The federated rebellion

As so often I find myself late to several parties at once.

Last November Elena Rossini wrote an article call called The Rebellion will be federated, which I found well worth reading. It preaches to the choir but then sometimes the choir needs preaching to.

Among other things, she asks, “What do billionaires and kleptocrats want?” and answers like this:

Uninformed, impulsive citizens driven by emotions (fear, rage, anxiety) instead of critical thinking. This way, they are so much easier to manipulate – for the gains of kleptocrats. For context, I will add that Elena Rossini is an Italian film director, producer, editor and public speaker.
Her most notable film is The Illusionists, a feature-length documentary about consumer culture and the marketing of unattainable beauty ideals around the world.
