We have come to Sanjeevini, after too long an interval. We intended to sit and have one beer at Leo first, but we waited there for almost twenty minutes and no beer arrived. We left just as they came over to explain, not for the first time that “it will be another five minutes”.

We expected that the time-wasting at Leo would mean that Sanjeevini would have filled up, but no: we get the table at the front that we wanted.

We start with poppadom and we have it with a very cold beer that arrives seconds after we order it.

When our main courses arrive, I look at my fish kadai and smile.
