Olya and Sally will come to the house to meet Shanti. They had intended to come a week ago but Irma had flu and we all decided that visitors and flu did not make a sensible combination.

Before they arrive I photograph a Tunisian fish that catches my eye hanging on a wall. We bought it about twenty years ago in Sousse, while we stayed at Port El Kantaoui; and it had followed us around ever since.

It has some larger siblings but I cannot remember whether or where we still have them.

And for those with long memories, yes: Port El Kantaoui suffered a deadly terrorist attack ten years later, in June 2015.
