This morning I went with the team to Kidsland and the Thozhichal anganwadi. At both sessions I sat and observed, looking to spot patterns in the children’s actions that we might seek to build upon.

In Thozhichal I watch Arugi’s hand movements. She works with the tablet as though she has trained as a concert pianist; flexing here fingers and using a different one each time to create colours and animate the images.

I watch her diligently warping the circle tool to make complex intersecting patterns which she then treats as objects and animates. She seems close to discovering the visual possibilities of simple wave polarisation.
