I have spent most of the day preparing. I started out preparing to record the introduction for this week’s podcast, but a sudden banging and shouting stopped that. I continued by preparing the new phone that Irma had pointed out I should use, now my old one has begun to crash at random intervals. Bizarrely the new phone exhibited exactly the same behaviour as my current one. Even more bizarrely, when this happened my current phone suddenly gave every appearance of working properly again.

After some eye rolling, I started preparing the Minecraft workshop for Wednesday but the internet stopped working. The modem began flashing red lights. I switched it off and then on again but the red lights continued. I decided to leave the house and walk to the beach.

I spent some time talking with Hari, who has now arrived in Kerala to supervise the annual renovation of The Village.

Now I sit in Crab Club watching the beach and drinking a lemon soda. I will decide to eat here and order a fish kadai and a salted lassi. I will watch five middle-aged women playing like excited children in the waves.
