Lighthouse Beach, 19:00
We decide to walk to the beach to eat. Then time passes and darkness looms, since dusk lasts about five minutes before night falls. We decide to get a rickshaw to Lighthouse Beach, which leaves us walking from the other end.
This suits us fine because the other end seems much quieter. We walk along and decide to go into Sanjeevini, where we have never gone on the grounds that it has no music and no fish outside.
It rapidly becomes our new favourite restaurant. I decide that they make the second best dal fry in the Kovalam area. We spend a couple of happy hours there and decide we will definitely come again. We learn that they used to call it Shiva Moon, which has the important advantage that potential guests can easily remember it and tell others about it. I photograph the sign outside so that I can remember the name Sanjeevini, and practice pronouncing it.
At some point I will go back to Natesh Café to see if they still hold the number one spot in the dal fry charts.
