Vizhinjam Harbour Road, 13:57
Irma gave me a lift on her scooter to see Archana, the dentist with her practice right next door to Raahath restaurant. It did not go very well. The road had potholes you could practise caving in and I expected to fall off the pillion seat or sink into the earth at any moment.
In actual fact we got there safely with no difficulty at all. What’s more I feel certain that every other person on every other scooter got where they wanted without having the fears I had.
Archana arranged for me to see an implant specialist and I walked home. The way back involves walking downhill, including a very steep downhill part, so walking home feels easy.
On the way back I stop in the middle of the road in front of Sabith Fast Food and photograph the bust of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
I had not seen it close-up before and had not realised it had colours.
