I walk to Lekha’s to pick up some parcels from Amazon. On the way I finally photograph a cow with its symbiotic friend, the egret.
This makes me wonder: does a cow always have the same egret on its back or not? The cow does not always stand in the same field, so if we answer yes then that implies that an egret wakes up every morning and flies around in search of its cow. If we answer no then that implies that every egret simply looks around every morning for a vacant cow and squats on its back.
Not even the lengthy essay on cattle egret in Wikipedia addressed this question satisfactorily.
