I have spent the day indoors after going to bed last night at a time suitable for a seven year old. The norovirus I have should, Doctor Internet tells me, end tomorrow or Wednesday.
Irma had it last week and hers only lasted three days so I feel optimistic that tomorrow will involve a lot less time on the toilet than today did.
This evening I finish the Anita Nair book that I started last week. I liked it a lot. It has a structure that resembles Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales with the major difference that the protaganist listens to the various women who tell of their lives with a view to find something in their stories that will help her decide if and how to change hers.
It says a lot about the ways in which women get oppressed and dominated and also, interestingly, about the ways in which the men who dominate them do it because they also feel oppressed by the customs and norms their families demand they live up to0.
