I go to the library to return a cd by Nick Cave and then walk across the bridge to Itis. I walk into the new Kauppahalli, where customers remain thin on the ground.

The last time I came here I remarked that everything needed signposting or else it will not last six months.

I notice this new sign. At least one restaurant, Mala Master, obviously agrees with me because they have added a sign explaining what they sell and how to order it. The other side of the sign explains that they sell ma, a form of Chinese street food.

Now that I know (and I genuinely didn’t before) I will try this at least once. A sign on the wall promises that it will burn my mouth.

Soon we shall put this to the test.
