The Yellow Diary
POSTED: August 18, 2024
Because of our frequent sojourns in Kerala, both Irma and I belong to a number of social media groups or, in one way or another, get Indian news and gossip in our feeds.
I learn a lot of things that way, including the news that a band from Mumbai called The Yellow Diary exist. The Sunday Guardian explain that “The Yellow Diary is a band that has made a name for itself in the indie music scene in less than half a decade. The Mumbai-based alternative rock outfit has released six songs in two EPs, in addition to performing hundreds of live shows across the country. They are now signed with Sony Music India”.
I like the video for their single from a few years back Mann, which features the famous-in-India GenZ influencer Tarini Shah as the girl who loses her (yellow) diary.
On the other hand I may prefer their more recent single Kahe Kahe which has a simple but well filmed and amusing love story for its video:
After watching these several times you might come to the conclusion that the band does not appear in its videos and, indeed, this seems to be the case.
They do appear in their live videos though.
